Correlation:
This is an electronic sounding devise that takes readings from the water supply pipe and locates any defects that may be present. It is accurate to within a min of 96%. This unit is normal used for detection of water main leaks.
The benefits of this are you are minimising the use of a plumber. Even with the best intention if he doesn't know were the leak is how he supposed to find it without excavating, even then he is guessing were to excavate. So once he has found the leak and repaired it, how much will it cost to reinstate the damage done?
With the correlate we locate the leak and advise you of the situation. The choice is then yours to whether we repair or you find your own engineer or DIY.
Thermal imaging:
This is a temperature receiving devise. It will give detailed pictures of the hidden world within your property. It allows use to see things that no normal eye could ever see, it allows us to locate things that normally would be undetectable. If you have seen the Police chase videos you may recall the helicopters chasing bright objects shaped like people, the way this is working is by reading different temperatures thus building a picture of the temps giving the shapes. The equipment we use is a far superior to this it allows us to take readings of 0.02 of a degree different.
Sound testing:
This is an acoustic sound device that allows us to locate leaks by locating the loudest point of the noise; this would normally be used to confirm one of the above tests.
Ultrasonics:
This is a method of ground radar, similar to a baby scan, that bears close resemblance to what we are able to see in your floor. It will expose all cavity and construction defaults within the scanned area. It will even allow us to detect and trace pipe, cable and any other items located underground / concrete. The main purpose for this type of equipment is to locate and
map services within the flooring.
Divining:
An age old method of locating water.
It has been proven time after time that it works. We have found this to be an accurate and positive method of detection. Of course we would not rely on this method in isolation but historically it has solved many jobs that we have found challenging!
Heat loss and damp detection:
This is a secondary use for the thermal image. It is done using the same methods for leak detection.
Heat loss from windows, fascia boards and the rendering on the left side of the building is very thin and may allow damp to penetrate or heat to escape. The positive side is the roof is showing that it is approx 6oC below loft insulation is good.
This picture demonstrates an area on the wall in red is losing more heat than the rest. This is a sign of possible damp or lack of insulation. On further investigation it was found to be an insulation fault.
Again a massive loss of heat from the windows, within the reigns of up to 7oC. This was found to be faulty seals around the top closers, and was corrected for less than £45.00 less than 20% of the money they were throwing out the window a year. |
